I don’t post my own training sessions much. I’m a Coach, training is part of the job (it’s also a big chunk of my therapy and spirituality).

I’m sharing this for a few reasons:

1. I take my courses seriously. How can I expect more from the attendees than I do of myself? I’ve been getting ready specifically for next week’s RKC for a couple of months. After a week off wrapping my head around the loss of my father-in-law, I did all the testing standards (minus the Snatch Test) with 24kg, 28kg and 32kg.

2. It’s been almost 2 years to the date that I started experiencing serious tremors that I would later learn stemmed from my having Graves’ Disease. At the time, I had lost almost all of my strength and shoulder stability. Presses, get-ups and snatches went bye bye. Fortunately, for the most part I have Graves' under control now but snatches have been the last thing for me to build back up.

3. I haven’t done 32kg snatches in over 4 years and I’m flat out stoked. Older and on the path to being stronger.

There’s a theme as my fellow middle aged folks train. It’s often expressed that folks train because they don’t want to get worse as they age.

It's a valid sentiment but let's refame it. How about we get better?!

All it takes is an educated game plan, patience and trust in the process.

This set is for Frank, Landen, Lance and Patrick.

Live long. Be strong. Die mighty.
